Ususally eye twitches during pregnancy only last for a short time, but sometimes eye twitching for days can occur, and in extreme cases eye twitches for weeks can happen. One other factor to consider is whether or not your body is dehydrated because dehydration can definitely contribute to eyelid spasms, especially during pregnancy.

It's vitally important to drink adequate amounts of water during pregnancy, not only for the health of the baby and mother, but also to help stabilize electrolytes which are crucial in preventing eye muscle spasms from occurring.

Consider the relation of caffeine to eye twitching during pregnancy. If you're drinking too much coffee or sodas you may want to switch to a decaffeinated version of the same drink.
